Bad news. My workload probably just increased by 150%! On top of what I am scheduled to fulfil, the only other colleague helping my manager tendered her resignation today and will not be serving her one mth notification. Her last day would be monday so in other words, she will teach me what she can by then and I would have to follow up and take over all her duties. (on top of mine!) I feel really swamped now and worried cos I'm not even clear or sure of some of the procedures although I know that I'll figure it out. Other than her daily and weekly duties, I would also have to follow up on a project she is currently handling! Gee, all it takes is some time to get used to the procedures I guess, but I don't know if I have that much time.
I am supposed to be manning events on weekends too and will be getting two weekdays off in return. This also means that technically I would only have three working days to complete my duties as mentioned in the first paragraph because the other two days will be spent helping out at events. This could possibly mean very much longer working hours with no OT pay at all.
Sigh. The cons of being an Intern. But I'll hang in there and hope it's worth it.

Don't you just love this photo! Got it from my Sis, there goes my exercise plan! Haha.

I love reading blogs when I'm bored. Me being kay-poh and gossipy of course. Sigh. Usually, I am envious of one's literary skills, their creativity in blogging, their well-thought thoughts, their wonderful photo skills or maybe it's their camera, and the life they lead. For the first few items, I may have felt the same way as they felt, but they express it so much better in words.
Perhaps I try but my posts doesn't quite turn out the way it's meant to be, or sometimes, I try and then give up trying to write such a post because my words just wouldn't flow. I guess as said before, my blog is most times a reflection of my child-like nature. Or maybe, I just don't read enough. Okay, moving on, my photos don't turn out well. The camera I'm using is a shared family's one and I have yet to invest in one of my own. The exposure is always too much and my photos turn out white and bright most times. Even when the photos are good, I always want to put together collages but then I wonder what programs do people use to put them together. Hmm.. I don't know if I consider my life a good one. Okay, can't really compare I guess, because there are so many others in the world who need so much more than me. Materially, I have nothing more to ask for I guess. I have a roof over my head, I have food all the time, I have clothes to wear...etc But, am I really satisfied, am I really happy? These are questions which I think sometimes I answer based like on a self-fulfilling prophecy. Like, am I happy? Yes I am. Then I make myself believe that I am. Am I satisfied? Yeah. I believe I am. Maybe, it's a bit of denial because I want to much more from life than I have, but sometimes I think that believing is the first step to it being true. If you don't believe in it and keep lamenting, then perhaps it will never come true.
Anyway, FYI, I'm done with my drama serials. Finished a total of 4 from YouTube ever since I started watching. GTO, Pride, SummerSnow and Attic Cat. I think I shall stop for a while so that I have more time to blog, chat, exercise and more. I have planned a "Skipping+Abs" routine which I have only done once this week. Haha.. It's supposed to be done 2 to 3 times a week but my week is almost over. I was going to do it today but I started blogging and somehow I took a while so now it's too late. Muahaha.. Oh well, let's see who's online. Hmm, how come there are so few people online tonight? Where is everyone! Not that I'm in a total chatting mood but just curious! Haha.. Oooh, issit because it's the opening day of the "Da Vinci Code" today? Maybe huh..
One more day to the weekend. Can't wait! :)

The couch potato has moved onto another drama serial. It's not a Jap one but a Korean one called "Attic Cat". In fact, I'm onto my 2nd episode but it's taking a while to load so I'm here blogging in btw.
Watched MI3 with Wingkit, Weijian and Addie yesterday. Siding joined us for dinner as she had aleady watched the show. I like outings like these. A bunch of friends meeting up and after dinner just sitting down at some place/cafe with drinks just chilling and chatting. I guess doesn't have to be with dinner and movie all the time, just meeting up for coffee or drinks is good enough actually. I have some not-so-flattering photos because of the camera I have but I can't even load them up because my card reader still is down. Haha. So pathetic!
Anyway, as I was browsing through Ying's blog, I saw her entry on Fengyi, Rach and herself going to JB. It was supposed to be a trip for all of us girls but it ended up being the three of them. I was at work, so was Siding. Addie was house viewing and Lav's in India. Funny how in the end, the group seems to be split 3 ways with Addie Ding and I and then Rach Fengyi and Ying and lastly, Lav seems to be rather independant these days.
I want to go serious shopping again!! I have added stuff on my list to buy! But sometimes it's so difficult to find things that you want, fits, looks and feels good and is reasonable priced.

I just reached home after dearest Swannie's little birthday party at Raffles Town Club. Joined them only for drinks and for the "cake cutting ceremony" because I was at another birthday celebration earlier! She invited close friends mainly her SNGS friends & co and her VJ gang & co. Even though I feel that she's definitely closer to her SNGS girls, she's a very dear friend of mine and I wish for her this birthday that she'll be happy always!
It's also my grandma's birthday today. Yes. 12th May. We went to
Grand Shanghai for dinner and I totally loved the place. The food was good, the ambience was better. Maybe because it was my first time there but I hope to go there again. The provided link doesn't do justice to the place I feel, it's webbie should so be more reflective of their restaurant. Pricey but go experience it on your own! Hehe. This was also like a Mother's Day dinner for all the Mothers' in the family. Anyway, despite how I don't explicitly and can't express my love for my granny, I really love her a lot.
I've been at work for 4 days. It's all fine. The Nortel Networks phone set was very nostalgic of my previous internship. Still getting a feel of the bank, the place, the department, the colleagues but so far so good. I don't have a desk on my own yet. Boohoo. I pathetically share a desk with a fellow colleague, probably until don't know when. No company email and no computer or internet access as well. Can't wait till I get a space of my own. Haha. I know I will soon because my work's coming in. I'll probably have so much more to do by next week. I'm really excited, not so much because of the job, but more because I won't have to stone and time will pass faster. And of course because I do love a certain amount of manageable challenges.
I'm really doing rather easy stuff. As interns, no strategic decisions to make of course. Don't know about other places but for the two I've been in, interns, if lucky do do stuff. But the stuff done are then again probably office admin and support roles. I guess what one takes away from the internship is relative to how much you see and experience on your own and of course the working experience, networking and soft skills included. I've no other comments on my work at the moment.
I'm trying to ration out my lunch appointments. I don't wanna meet all my friends and potential lunch kakis in one week and have none in the following weeks. But please feel free to ring/beep me if you're in the Raffles Place area. I'll gladly have lunch with you friends! :)
It's my latest "night" for this week. Work always readjusts my body clock. I'll definitely sleep by 1am and wake by 730am. It's a good routine although I guess 1.5h more of sleep would be perfect! However, currently this 1.5h is spent on Orange Days (45mins of drama + 10mins of waiting to load and pausing in btw to chat) and a bit of MSN-ing. Chatting online is not exactly real time and you can talk to a few peeps at once so 45mins of chatting can really pass quite quickly. I hope my social life doesn't come to a halt, I must continue to chat, meet up and hang out with my friends.

I'm in Siding's room, using her laptop, browsing blogs and watching my 3rd Jap drama serial (Summer Snow) from YouTube. It's the last episode but it's taking a while to load, hence, I decided to blog.
I have decided on my 4th Jap drama serial, as recommended by yinqiboo.
Orange Days! Apparently, the lead actor is supposedly very good looking. I guess if you're interested, you could google it out or refer to Yinqi's blog for his photo. Haha.. I hope the show's good and that I will still have the energy to do my almost favourite activity (kinda like being a couch potato) when I start working.
Went to Sentosa yesterday with dearest Siding and other hall friends. It was supposed to EH Beach Day organised by Social Committee and an ERC chalet and bbq as always. However, the turn out wasn't that ideal. Well I guess it was ideal for me, just a group of friends hanging out at the beach just relaxing, playing frisbee, ultimate frisbee, beach volleyball, a bit of swimming, then heading for the chalet where we happily jumped and played in the pool, then a good bbq before heading back to hall. Had the group been much much much bigger (ideal for the organising committee cos it would mean greater success if done well), I'm not sure if it would still have been fun for me!
It's been a while since I went to Sentosa. Okay the last time was DND but that wasn't counted. For DND we went straight to the hotel ballroom and then straight home. It was almost just like any other mainland hotel except for the different view. Yep. By Sentosa, I mean more like beach!, tourist attractions!...etc Hehe. It was really fun yesterday. I enjoyed myself. Some photos from Sentosa to be uploaded into Flickr soon! Gotta collect them from friends first! Didn't take as many as I would have loved to cos I left my camera at home! Silly me. Thankfully, others brought theirs and I had my mobile phone camera.
Looks like I'm really making full use of my time before Monday. :)

I'll be starting my summer internship with ABN AMRO Bank on Monday. Yes it's sudden but I got a call confirming the internship only today. Will be working all the way until the 2nd week of August and lessons start in the 3rd week so it'll be a pretty long 3 mths. I'll probably be attached to do marketing stuff instead of proper technical finance stuff but I'm really fine with that because it's more within my capabilities I hope.
The good news! I informed them that I would be away for about 1 week in June prior to the confirmation and I still got the internship. i.e. They will be letting me for for my 1 week holiday! I get my internship and I get my holiday! Yay! I only hope that all will be enjoyable. I think this holidays will be super tiring, no doubt, but at least it seems pretty promising for now.
Will be going to Koh Tao and Bangkok for my 1 week holiday in June. Mainly to dive and shop I guess. Looking forward to it yet slightly apprehensive about the dives. After securing my open water license 2 years ago, this will be my first dive out. Took a refresher course on Wednesday, feeling a bit more confident now but not that enough yet I guess. Maybe I should go swimming more often when I can so that I can get used to feeling more comfortable in the water.
Will be moving out of hall this weekend. My 2nd time moving out. Not feeling as emotional as last year. I guess I've grown a bit tired of hall and all and ultimately, I hope that friends will always remain friends, as long as you make an effort to. Not being in hall doesn't seperate us! :)
Polling tmr! My first ever General Elections. Don't think I am that informed yet but I will have to make a decision tmr. Haha.. Rather exciting ey. Okay! Gtg seeya!

Pride killed me. Pun intended. But yes, literally, I didn't know the show would be so addictive! Or maybe I underestimated myself given my track record with drama serials. Haha. Looks like later's plan may have to be cancelled cos it doesn't seem like I'll be sleeping soon. Gosh.
•
I've moved on to another Japanese drama serial called "Pride". It's less popular as compared to "GTO" maybe since I've never heard of it. Haha. Not that I'm into Japanese dramas or any particular actor from it. I'm only at the first episode so can't say much. It seems like another romantic story and a bit about ice hockey. Sometimes I wonder why I love reading, watching and tearing at love stories. Makes me happy yet a little depressed 'cos the sweetest things that happen in those stories do not usually happen in reality. I'm not ruling them out totally yet of course.
I hope tomorrow/later will be a fulfilling day. I've got a bit of stuff planned out but whether they materialise will depend on erm me. Haha. This week seems hopeful. i.e. filled with activities. Still, watching movies or dramas, and 'getting involved with the shows' seem to remain part of the plan.
Btw, I downloaded 'Manderlay' the sequel of 'Dogville' and lo and behold! It was in Spanish I think. Grrr.. Felt cheated. Haha.

YouTube has been the recent craze but I only started browsing and watching stuff from it yesterday. Reason being that I like to watch movies or serials and perhaps not just clips. I guess YouTube has some of those but I find it difficult to search for those that I'm interested in, so I guess I only watch stuff when recommended by friends. Nevertheless, I feel that YouTube is a great idea! Having taken a module on "Internet Business Models" this semester, I wonder how YouTube exists. i.e. what are its sources of revenue. There is some form of advertising but doesn't seem that intensive and pushy! Which is of course part of the reason why many people are still visiting the website for great clips. Just something to think about I guess.
Being a laggard once again, haha, I started watching GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) on YouTube yesterday after the show was released years ago (I presume). I get easily hooked onto serials and this time was no different. Within one day, I'm almost at the end of the series, currently at episode 11 with episode 13 being the last episode of this series. Those who watch it would know why. For me, primarily, it hugs at my heart strings when each episode features a rather moving story of how GTO relates to and helps his homeroom students.
Yep, just an insight to my 'not-so-exciting', rather standard, Sunday activity. This post is also dedicated to Jojo Kong requested me to blog more to entertain her. :)
