I don't believe in starsigns but I came over this quiz at Ying's blog and did it. Funny how I'm a Leo, and I used to read somewhere that if Leos got together, it would be passionate with kinda like fiery outbursts because they would be too similar. i.e. love being the center of attraction.
| Your True Love Is a Leo |
 Why you'll love a Leo:
A Leo has a presence and power that you find intoxicating. Sensual and playful, you'll be thrilled to have your Leo pick you as a playmate!
Why a Leo will love you:
You're willing to let your Leo be the center of attention (both at home and in public) And you're able to tiptoe around your lion - and put up with the occasional fit. |
Siding says that I'm being picky when it comes to guys. Perhaps she was telling the truth even though I rebutted her comment. I don't know. I just feel that if it doesn't feel right, it doesn't. Does that mean that I'm being picky? Would you, settle for someone whom you think is not "the best". Note that the keyword here is THINK. or perhaps I could replace it with FEEL. Your best may not suit me. My best fit may not suit you. In other words, "best" is relative and by no means a measure of capabilities. In fact, only you would know what you're looking for. Okay, correction, haha, your friends would probably have an idea of what kinda partner you're looking for and perhaps they can tell if a person is compatible or incompatible with you. Sometimes they are right, sometimes they are wrong, you'll never know. Maybe there isn't a best but at least to me, it's still about the vibes, and that little something called spark.
Idealistic huh. Seems like I'm not going to find it. No wonder Siding says I'm picky. (I'm still gonna seem like I'm trying to defend myself but..) Why would I want to settle for just anyone just because they are nice. It's more than that really. There are soooo many aspects to attraction and a relationship, which is why I guess my stand now seems to be 'I rather not have one than to have 'second-best'. You'll never know unless you try? Why try when you think you know? It's not that much of a game you know. I guess I don't know when it's right, I just have a feeling when I think it's not. It's unfair. And I felt slightly helpless when a good friend of mine joked at the mahjong table that I'm left on the shelves. I couldn't rebutt because when I looked up, looked around the room, it was true. All the folks in the room had found a partner of some sort.
Oh wait a minute, I just realised the catch. I guess 'picky' has negative connotations but it doesn't have to be so. No right or wrong but personally, I feel that when you're looking for a partner, please be picky! Don't just settle for anyone but settle for someone whom you are happy with and want to be with. Then again, when I'm much older and maybe really left on the shelves, perhaps I'll be okay with just good companionship. Okay, seriously, I'm kinda caught up in my own thoughts I think I'm starting to rattle on and I'll soon be contradicting myself.
Feelings and relationships are strange. I guess because they are simple yet complicated (to least to me). I've had my fair share and it's been so long since I was in one, it makes me very afraid of one now. Loneliness has pros and cons. But, everything else does too.

It's been a rather boring two days since I handed in my last project which marked the end of my semester on Saturday night.
Sunday - Slept until afternoon. Went for a late lunch/tea with Mum, Dad and Lenn. Went home and lazed around. No tv programs that I really wanted to watch, no dvds that Mum borrowed. Nothing much to do until I picked up a vcd from Lenn's room. "Dogville" was it. It was an interesting show. Watch it if you have time. Now I'm interested in watching the sequel to it. "Manderlay" but I haven't been able to find it.
Monday - Woke up extremely late after a late ("early") Sunday night. Did nothing much. Sleep, Eat, Sleep, Eat. That seemed to be the pattern.
Tuesday (by far the most eventful day since the end of my semester!) - Woke up early because I slept so much on Monday I presumed. Went for a morning jog. Headed down to OTO to collect paycheck. Went to town to meet Ding for lunch and shopping! Woohoo! Haha. My first trip to town after many many many weeks. I can't even remember the last time I was there. Lunched at Sakae Sushi at Heeren. Then shopping at our usual shops of interest. Mango, Zara, Forever21 then headed for Far East. Mango and Zara had nothing much that we were really attracted to. Either that or the pricey tags turned us away. Sometimes, it's just not worth it. Forever21 was a bit more "promising". Ding bought a top from there in the end. :) I bought a top and a pair of berms, both from Far East. Pretty happy with my buys and I hope I make good use of them. Funny how some of my newest things always remain hidden in the wardrobe. I would have taken photos to display if not for my faulty card reader. Could have bought more if not for the guilt of spending too much $. Hehe. I'm still looking for nice shoes!
Anyway, went back to hall after town. Felt so sleepy after dinner that I slept from 8plus pm to 3am, which explains why I'm awake now. Gosh, and I wanted to maintain the healthy "waking up" time which I had last morning. Maybe I shouldn't sleep now, take a nap in the afternoon and sleep at a bit more earthly hour at night. But if I don't sleep, what am I to do? Hmm..
To sum up, friends are important to having things to do! Haha.. I do have a long list of stuff for this holidays which can and must be done independently though. Just don't feel like getting down to them yet. Slowly but surely I guess... Can't wait for all my friends to finish their examinations! For now, it still seems like my holidays haven't begun...

the title speaks for itself. my IA makeup test. boohoo. :(
my prof is out of the country so the prof from the other IA class greeting myself and a friend at the venue of our test. out of 4 possible make up test candidates, yt and i found ourselves the only 2 present. when we started the test, prof low (the prof who greeted us) said "the test is very tough but you just try.. if you don't know how to do it's normal. the test is very tough. many people didn't do well in the first test too. the average score was abt 50 (out of 100). this test is more difficult but it's your "punishment" for not making the first test.." then he left the room. okay haha those weren't his exact words. maybe i added stuff in btw his lines and i can't remember the exact words he used but this was the message sent to my puny brain. yt and i tried to defend ourselves by saying that it's not our fault we missed the test cos we were sick.. all prof said was the test is tough but will be moderated.
question: how do you moderate our papers when we couldn't fill in anything? the first test (i heard) was v bad too. there were mcq, and 3 structured qns with one on ethics which could be answered w/o studying but overall still tough. for the makeup test, there were 3 structured qns. NO MCQs as safety net. and the structured qn that had the highest weightage was the topic which was supposed to be included in the MCQs only. i saw the paper and i feel like my brain and body was failing me already. not like mcqs if given would be easy but at least i could "tikam" the answer if i don't know and perhaps i would have 1/4 a chance of getting it right. i studied the test for the first format. i knew they would change the questions but i didnt expect a change in the structure! anyway structure aside, the qns had stuff i never saw/read/studied b4. i really didnt know how to ans. i felt that my almost one week of studying + my 2 hrs there was wasted. should have spent the time doing my indiv proj instead. and most of all, it was very very very embarassing. because even though i tried to scribble stuff on my script, perhaps it was really better if i left them blank cos it was really nonsense. and hey guess what, we didnt have to fill in our matric numbers which was the usual. but our identity was not protected because we had to fill in our names! it was pure torture sitting in the room staring at the paper.
so when time was up, even when prof low had not returned for us, yt and i decided to leave our papers and the room. nothing could have been done. more time was useless. oh and i 4got to mention that prof low left us all by ourselves during the 2hrs. trusting us not to cheat.. or perhaps he knew that we wouldn't be able to anyway! our bags were locked in another room so there was no books to look at but had we two had conversed, it wouldn't have made a difference to our answers.
bottomline: slaughtered in shame! i think maybe, just maybe.. it's time to graduate.

back in hall after abt 4 days of disappearing. heh.. studying is better but still no good. today will be my final mugging day for my IA test tmr. i have to admit though that i don't think it can be considered mugging. i have been reading the text and the notes but sometimes i'm just don't geddit. or perhaps i'm too lazy to get it. but i really try. sigh. don't know what's important don't know what's not. and there's like a million things so it's rather impossible for me to remember everything.
slept early last nite so i woke up early this morning. finally. feels good to be awake early in the morning after a good night's rest the night before. started my studying and was trying to keep to the 'study 45mins rest 15mins' tip but i think for me it ended up more like 'study20mins rest 5-10mins'. ahhh!!! haha sigh. i really gotta step up. sometimes i wonder why did i choose finance as my area of concentration. i would so love to read/do more marketing stuff and case studies. but i guess my response to this would now be that finance seems to be more useful and challenging. i mean, i'm not good at it but at least i'm learning. marketing is no doubt interesting and i believe for me, easier to study but it's something i can read up/learn without having to really take modules i think. or just maybe i don't know enough abt the scope of marketing. oh well...
anyway, it's the last 5 days of my semester. but these 5 days would be important without much room for me to laze. there's the IA quiz tmr, the MKTG quiz on Thurs and the IA proj due on Sat. quite worried abt all these but i guess worrying doesn't help, action does it. i must get down to doing all these. i must i must. heh.. talk about positive thoughts and self visualization. alritey, i think it's been 15 mins, or more than 15mins.. i'd better go back to my books.

i am horrible. although i finished two papers, i still have two more and two indiv projects to be completed next week but i have been complaining that i am bored.. hmm well it's the inertia to get started for the stuff left but hopefully i will.. tmr.. procrastination seems to be my middle name.
anyway, i have finally laid my hands on lav's grey's anatomy season 2 and i will be watching some episodes today just to make me feel better! muahaha.. it's been so long since i watched it..
alritey, just a quick post. for those who are bored, i have uploaded some photos of my dnd onto flickr so feel free to take a look. they are not in a set though because i am not a premium member so i can't create more than 3 sets.
till next time, when i've more interesting stuff to share perhaps. :)

i'm not supposed to be blogging. but i told myself that this is an exception since i fell ill. haha. okay. it's not funny at all. in fact, it felt horrible, terrible! and i never felt so bad in a long long while. the pain lasted abt 24 hrs. the last time i had such pain was perhaps before i almost fainted and got my ugly cut and scar. but that lasted like max 5mins.
so, i registered a temperature of 38.6 degrees celsius at the clinic yesterday. together with a totally splitted headache, a sore throat and a block nose. with my worry for the test the next day, and all the uncompleted projects and assignments, i guess i panicked even more, hence everything piled up made me start to tear at the busstop on my way to the clinic. how embarassing! yet i was unable to control the stream of tears that kept rolling down my cheeks. thankfully swanny stayed by my side all the way till the clinic. even at the clinic, i had to ask for additional tissue paper.
anyway, after the clinic visit where i got a 2 day mc, i went back to hall and after much trouble managed to sleep from about 2pm to 12noon the next day (a total of 22hrs), with occasional waking up to take medication. the medication wasn't that effective i think but the 22hr rest did me good. i think it's really times like these where ur body is resisting and telling you that you need more rest. honestly, i was surviving on very little sleep and sometimes even none at all due to insommia.
what the 22hrs sleep meant was that i missed my IA test and have to request for a makeup test. in any case, i am totally not prepared for the test. i was supposed to study in that 22hrs of sleep. however, given my schedule, i don't think i'll be prepared for the makeup test either. sigh. so dead this semester! please let me survive...
